I was a freelance personal trainer in New York for 2 years while completing my masters program at Columbia University. I have extensive training in exercise form and technique through Randolph-Macon College athletic program and ACE's strength and conditioning program. I am thrilled to be at Anytime Fitness here in Virginia. I believe that your fitness journey is one that shapes your discipline, your body, and your spirit. We only have one body, we should use it wisely!
April Penland (Yoga Instructor)
A Yoga practitioner for more than a decade, I have a proficiency of yoga fundamentals through to the most advanced postures. My public teaching background lends to my ability to relay information in a friendly, understandable, and enjoyable manner. Fellow yogis will get from me a practical application of basics for achieving asanas matching their skill levels, as well as homework and drills that will improve their overall practice. I understand organizational strategy for classes, clinics, workshops, and retreats.

As a Marine the main focus of my training of others was primarily strength and conditioning. I have also practiced Mixed Martial Arts for the past 19 years, which I try to implement in my training today. While training the elite for 8 years I spent 2 years managing The Body Composition Program in Japan. My priority was to train Marines that were either still injured or after recovering from an injury still needed help meeting the Marine Corps standard of fitness. During those 2 years, I learned a lot regarding rehabbing and physical therapy. I then spent the last 11 years working with civilians from every walk of life from police officers to neighbors. Rather someone has the goal of achieving the fitness of a Marine, wants to simply tone up, bulk up, or take their fitness to another level with 19 years of training experience, I possess the ability to get them to that goal.
Eileen Lorenz (Personal Trainer)
I am A.C.E Cert. Personal Trainer. since 1993. I specialize in exercise Rx and program design for active older adults, the A/TBI, Diabetics, Parkinson's, Cancer patients and survivors , ALS, the memory challenged, Post-rehab (cardio and orthopedic) which includes joint replacement and spinal cord issues that are either genetic or acquired. I work with many PTs, OTs, STs as well as Physicians to design programs for clients that are safe and effective. As a personal trainer for over 20 years, I am committed to providing a service that is valuable, as well as cost effective. I know my experience and knowledge can give you the tools you need to be the best you can be.

Personal Trainer and student perusing Doctorate in Physical Therapy at VCU. I specialize in prescribing exercise programs for prevention and progression of Chronic Diseases such as Osteoarthritis and Rheumatoid Arthritis (Back,Hip and Knee). Although physical activity is important fueling the body is just as crucial. Providing individuals with the tools they need in order to transition into a healthier lifestyle change is the ultimate outcome.
